The Cookies Kush strain comes out of the world famous Amsterdam coffeeshop, Barney’s Coffeeshop. By crossing the delicious Girl Scout Cookies with a Rolex phenotype of OG Kush, they created a gold medal winner. This indica strain won 1st place in High Times’ 2014 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup in the “Best Coffeeshop Strain” Category. What you get is a taste similar to that of Girl Scout Cookies and a hint of mint.
Effects
This strain is unique not just in the flavour but in the fact that it is reported to have upwards of 3% CBD to go along with it. Users of this strain report having an interesting high, since it brings two different sensations and merges them together, similar to that of an indica dominant hybrid. Users report initially feeling a light head buzz, then transforming into a sedation that will leave you feeling lazy.
Medical Effects
Users within the medical marijuana community have reported this strain helps depression by being an excellent mood booster. In addition, Cookies Kush may help with mild pain such as muscle spasms as well.

Cookies Kush is the cannabis lovechild between the Rolex pheno of OG Kush, and Girl Scout Cookies. Both parent genetics come through well on this batch as you’re met with an earthy, warm and sugary aroma that takes front seat. Muted scents of kush follow if you take the time to focus, but not too much. This quickly changed as I prepared a joint and noticed how prominent the flavours were on each dry pull.
The flower arrived slightly dry with a disclaimer that buds were medium to small, perhaps hence the slight price drop but it doesn’t prove to be an issue. A wide range of deep, luscious greens contrast well against the pale nuclear lime shades that cover the underskirt. Fiery orange pistils break through the overwhelming amount of resinous trichomes that absolutely blanket the entire batch.
After a few days becoming friends with a boveda pack, a bit of life was brought back into the Cookies. The grow was unique to me, as the flower had more bulbous-type heads which broke from the stem easily. This is likely why the batch was advertised as medium to smalls however, there is virtually no shake to be reported as the trim was excellent and nugs remained uniform even after splitting from the stem.
Effects are quick and heavy with this one, lasting an exceptionally long time with well above average potency. I understand the lineage shows a more Indica dominant profile but a weighted, euphoric feeling took over the better part of my face and the tops of my arms / chest. I want to say the supposed 3% CBD content had something to do with how much of a relaxing, and full bodied high this strain was able to give on such a minimal amount. Functional, clean and powerful. Phenomenal daytime strain for experienced users who are looking to relax and focus at the same time.
